If you want to know how to win favor in life, the good book has the answer it says to let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, and write them on the tablet of your heart.  Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. (Proverbs 3:3-4).

I have a question for you, when was the last time you did a heart check-up to see what was written on it? Love or hate? Faith or fear? Take a moment to reflect on it.

We don’t know what the new year will bring, but our greatest resolution could be to spend more time in fellowship with God.  Whatever comes into our life, we can pray, turn it over to the Lord, and rejoice in Him.  So while it is good to make resolutions to lose weight, exercise or save more.  Our resolution could be to take our blessings to the Lord in thanksgiving and our burdens to Him in prayer.

May I submit this resolution to you for consideration?  As we closeout 2018 and welcome 2019, I would like to take this time to wish you a Happy New Year!  May your new year be filled with joy, peace and love; especially the warmth of God’s love. Take care and be blessed!

There were three prominent women in the bible named Mary.  First, there was Mary of Bethany, she is the one who sat at Jesus’s feet and Mary of Magdala, she is the one who supported Jesus’ ministry from her own resources (Luke 8:1-3) and then there is Mary, the one who gave birth to baby Jesus.

I am truly grateful for all of the contributions that these women gave, especially to the Mary, who said, “yes” to giving birth to our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Merry Christmas!

Here is what it looks like when we surrender to God unconditionally:

We give him all of our days of the week not just Sundays.

We give him our attitudes as well as our behaviors and actions.

We give him our hearts and our plans.

When we accept Jesus as Lord, the Holy Spirit comes and live within us unconditionally. Isn’t it time that we live for God and surrender our life to Him unconditionally?

Think and pray about it.

Our time is given to us by God’s grace.  Every second, minute, and hour of each day is God’s gift to us.  How we use our time is our gift to God.

Our talents are our natural abilities to perform certain tasks with superior quality and less effort than others.

Our treasures are the resources and possessions that we have received from the hand of God and of course our hard work.

Our time, talents and treasures are all gifts from God.  How we manage all of these gifts would decide whether we are good stewards or not.  Do you consider yourself a good steward? What can you do to make yourself a great one?  Think about it.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalms 90:12 (NIV)

As Christians, one of the traditions that we do is celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25 with family and friends and gift exchanges.  During this time of year many other religions and denominations have celebrations as well.  I invite you to focus on what is common between us, and not our differences.  I invite you to share love and not hate. I invite you to be a light where ever you go so that the darkness will dissipate.  The bible says that there is One Lord. One Faith. One Baptism, and I believe it. After all, it is all about love.  God’s Love.

Heavenly Father, please help me to live this day quietly and easily. Please help me to lean upon your great strength, trustfully, restfully, and to meet others peacefully, as well as joyously.  May I face tomorrow confidently and courageously.

Today is the official holiday of giving thanks.  People of all faiths will sit down at the dinner table to break bread and fellowship.  Many of us will reflect on what we are thankful and grateful for.  I challenge you to let this official Thanksgiving Day serve as a reminder that “everyday is a day of thanksgiving.”

We have so much to be thankful for; our health, food on the table, shelter, as well as the love of family and friends, and the precious memories of the loved ones who are no longer with us to name a few.  If you reflect on what you are grateful for daily; it will lift your spirit.

So I ask what are you grateful for today?

Today is election day in the United States.  Please take yourself to the polls.  Many people suffered and died for the right to vote and recently many others’ voting rights have been challenged.  If your vote doesn’t count–why are others trying to take your voting rights away?  It must be important.

Think about it…

I challenge you to find out your purpose in life, early in life. I challenge you to find out what you were created to do, as well as what brings you joy! Most importantly to Live. Life. Out. Loud! Intentionally. When I was younger I always thought that I had a lot of time to live and I had a lot of the “one day I am going to do this and one day I am going to do that” plans. I encourage you to work on your gifts and talents and your goals and dreams. Don’t wait–just begin where you are. Now that I am older, I am thinking how fast time flies! and I am more focused that ever working on making an impact in the lives of others. My goal is to work on living, as well as leaving an legacy for those I love.  What are your life goals?
